Covid-19 update

Unfortunately one of our care team members in our psychogeriatric daycare tested positive yesterday for covid-19.

As you can be contagious up to 2 days before the first onset of symptoms, our clients may have been possibly exposed last Monday and have been placed in quarantine for 14 days.

The team of CPS was informed yesterday and has started contact tracing. The Inspectorate of Health was also updated today. We continue to follow all guidelines and protocols and will remain in close contact with our clients and their families during their quarantine period. We realize the impact of such measures on everyone’s daily life and know how stressful it is to monitor daily if any symptoms may arise.

The family doctors of our clients were also informed, so that they are extra alert for covid-19 in the event anyone develops symptoms. The list of possible symptoms was shared with all families, as it is important to realize that these symptoms include more than only a cough, fever and shortness of breath.

Our recent experience with the covid infections in our Nursing Home has shown that our senior clients presented with loss of appetite and generalized weakness and by far not everyone developed a cough or fever.

We wish our colleagues a full and speedy recovery and our clients and their family members much strength and health during their days of quarantine.

I am always available for any questions via email or phone.
